Everything is still fairly calm here in Naga. It's been raining lightly, then hard, then lightly, etc. all morning but that's about it so far. Sounds like Yolanda made landfall this morning around 4:30am in the Visayas.
We're currently at Signal 2 and we're expecting Yolanda to come closer to us later this afternoon. Hopefully the rumors about her weakening as she comes north are true and it won't be as intense up here. Apparently people are worried about the wind and rain loosening soil and such on Mt. Mayon that may trigger mudflows and landslides in that area.
Super Typhoon Haiyan, one of strongest storms ever, hits central Philippines
"The JTWC analyzed that Haiyan was the most intense tropical cyclone worldwide since reliable records began, with one-minute maximum sustained winds estimated at 315 km/h (195 mph)."
