Dinagsa Fiesta, Part 2

After getting all painted and watching the dances, we walked out to the pier in Karla's town.

The final result!

Because of the fiesta, Karla's host family had prepared all kinds of amazing food!

Later that night, we went back to the main fiesta area where there were tons of drink-serving tents set up.  People walking and sitting at tables clogged up the whole street and we sat down for a few San Migs.  All of a sudden, we thought we were being fired upon... turned out to be fireworks being shot from the top of the building right next to us.  I think the fireworks were best summed up by Chelsea when she said "so beautiful, but so terrifying!"  They were so low we could feel their debris falling on us and see it shooting into the trees next to us.  Even though they weren't going to hit us, we still felt the need to duck down as low as possible!

The next day, Karla took us horseback riding!  It was so nice to be outside on a beautiful day and get some quality outdoor time!

The area around Karla's site is mostly covered with fields of sugarcane.
We got to ride through a few.

On our way to Bacolod (close to the airport we were flying out of), we passed these two jeeps that will FILLED and PILED with LIVE chickens.  They were packed inside and tied up hanging off the sides.  There was even a goat on top of one.

In Bacolod, we visited "The Ruins" where we enjoyed more quality outdoor time.  The house has an interesting story and I believe the short version goes something like this: A rich sugarcane producer built the extravagant house as a gift for his wife using only the most quality materials.  Later when the Spaniards came, the house was set on fire intentionally so the invading forces couldn't use it to their advantage.  Fortunately for Filipino history and tourists, because the skeleton of the house was built with such quality, high grade cement, it remained standing.
This is the few looking down on the fountain garden from the top floor of the house.
