Before I left for vacation, I did "Library Duty" a couple times over the recess and lunch breaks. We've decided it's better to only let about 20 kids in at one time so it's easier for us to create the type of library atmosphere we're aiming for. Too many kids is way too loud and unmanageable. Despite us only allowing 20 at a time, that doesn't stop them from lining up in hoards outside the door, just waiting for someone to leave so they can enter! I literally have to block them physically so the crowd doesn't push the first ones in. It's so great to have such intense interest and enthusiasm, but we're going to have to work on the "lining up" thing...
